At 54, Betty is a bundle of energy, swinging grandchildren around with an astonishing amount of grace for her slender form. Her grandchildren, she proudly proclaims, are her world. Two years ago, that world fell apart when she found herself gasping for breath just walking short distances. She was diagnosed with COPD, but trips to the doctor failed to provide a solution. "I couldn’t run, I couldn’t jump, I couldn’t play with my grandchildren,” Betty said. She found her solution in clinical trials hosted by Greenville Pharmaceutical Research where the consistent treatment and intensive patient care resulted in a drastic improvement in her health. Betty’s fairy tale story has another chapter in her happy ending: she can now take her grandchildren on their annual quest to Disney World.
