When Kim and Michael uttered their wedding vows two years ago, they both cringed as they promised to love each other through sickness and health. “Sickness was all we had known,” Kim explained. “We fell in love when we were both sick, so we know it’s true love.” Both frequented a pain management center together and were told they qualified for a clinical study at Greenville Pharmaceutical Research center appropriate to their health issues. “We both got so much out of it,” Kim said. “The staff there, well we can’t say enough good things about them, and the care we received. We once called at 1 a.m. with a question and were met with concern and kindness. They make you feel like a person and not just a number.” During the study, Kim found that she could resume her exercise schedule without pain, and Michael found himself able to walk longer distances without his cane.“We do as many studies on pain management as we can now,” Michael said. “It makes all the difference in the quality of our lives.” Kim laughed. “Now we know a little more what the vows about health mean!”
